Symposium Norge, a temporary event held every two years, is considered one of the first stone sculpture symposia. Its core principle remains to provide a platform for professional stone sculptors to exchange ideas about their work and create sculptures. The event is non-commercial, focusing on the motto "artists helping artists." The operator is the non-profit organization Kunstfelt Stålaker, which is run by artists who collaborate with the invited sculptors, shaping the symposium as a collective. The aim is to create space for everyone and to share responsibility. The Symposium Norge event receives generous support from the stone producer Lundhs AS which offers the opportunity to live and work directly at the Stålaker quarry. This creates an important link between sculpture and the stone industry.
